Jay-Z opened the first two nights of his three-show Yankee Stadium run by performing Reasonable Doubt and The Blueprint in full.
Before taking the stage Friday, fans watched a video of Beyoncé giving him a fresh haircut, fueling speculation that new music could be on the way. Other highlights included:
- Beyoncé joining Jay for “Can’t Knock the Hustle.”
- Blue Ivy performing “Feelin’ It,” including a piano solo, and sharing a hug on-stage with her pops.
- Nas, rocking NY Mets gear, joining Jay for “Dead Presidents,” “The World Is Yours,” “Where I’m From” and “N.Y. State of Mind.”
- Jaz-O reuniting with Jay for “Bring It On.”
- Night two beginning at exactly 9:11 in honor of The Blueprint’s original release date.
- Surprise appearances from Eminem, Pharrell and Slick Rick.
- One notable, but understandable omission from the setlist — “Takeover.”
Jay also debuted a new freestyle defending his recent business ventures, telling the crowd that the album, which sold just 43,000 copies in its first week, has now helped sell out Yankee Stadium three nights over.
