A bunch of scientists in Michigan did some research and concluded that electric flying cars could actually end up being better for the environment than electric cars zipping around on the ground. And, on top of that the electric flying cars would also free up congested roads.
The authors figured out that a vertical-takeoff-and-landing vehicle could cut emissions by 35% compared to a single person in a normal car.
Unfortunately, there’s a pretty big catch.
The technology necessary to produce a flying car hasn’t been developed yet -- and might not arrive in time to solve the crisis situations we’ll be dealing with. But, we can dream, can’t we? (Los Angeles Times)
