The Brooklyn rapper was busted at the airport, coming back from a European tour. The NYPD picked him up as a courtesy to the Houston police department, where there was a warrant out for Tekashi’s arrest. The warrant was tied to his allegedly choking a 16-year-old kid in January at the Galleria Mall.
The rapper’s team reportedly plans to handle the warrant soon. They also tried to downplay the severity by saying the NYPD shouldn’t have bothered arresting and extraditing him to Texas considering it’s just a misdemeanor.
Tekashi was due in court in New York on an unrelated matter today, but that hearing was postponed while he clears up some paperwork. (TMZ)
