Millions suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic, but a recent Business Insider investigation found that Lil Wayne and Chris Brown were not among them. The report indicates that Lil Wayne received an $8.9 million grant from a pandemic-relief program meant for independent venues and artists. Instead of using the funds for their intended purpose, he reportedly spent it on luxury hotels, designer clothes, and private jet travel. He also spent $15,000 on flights and hotels for women linked to his team, including an adult actress and a waitress, though their connection was unclear. On New Year's Eve 2021, Lil Wayne was supposed to perform in Southern California but canceled last minute due to "the wind and the flights." Despite not performing, he reportedly charged taxpayers nearly $88,000. Social media posts show he was seen partying with 2 Chainz at a club that same night. The investigation also highlighted Chris Brown's questionable spending. He allegedly spent $80,000 on his birthday party and $24,000 for a bus ride to Tulum. His company, CBE Touring, received $10 million, with about $5.1 million going to him directly. David Walker, former Comptroller General of the United States, commented on the situation, saying it raises concerns. He stated that while legality is uncertain, the spending certainly seems suspicious.
