A Brownsville man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for intoxication manslaughter. 52 year old Salvador Ramos Gamez was driving the wrong way on Highway 69 in June of 2024 and hit an oncoming vehicle head-on killing 20 year old Camille Alayna Marti and 25 year old Loren Dayle Icenhower-Starks, both of Beaumont. Gamez received two 20 year sentences that will run consecutively. He was also sentenced to 10 years for his third DWI. That sentence will run concurrently with the second 20 year sentence. Gamez, who pleaded guilty, was sentenced Monday in Judge Raquel West’s courtroom at the Jefferson County Courthouse.
