Taking a look at gas prices as we head into the holiday weekend shows no change in the average for a gallon in the Beaumont/Port Arthur area over the past week as it stays at $2.70 a gallon. Last year on the 29th day of August, we were paying $2.94 a gallon. The statewide average is up six cents to $2.79 and Triple A Texas reports the national average jumped six cents to $3.20 a gallon.
