Young Thug made his triumphant return to the stage, and he brought out a few good friends to share the historic moment with him.
On Sunday night, June 22, the Atlanta rapper took over the main stage at Lyrical Lemonade's Summer Smash music festival in Chicago. Thugger opened his set with "Take It To Trial" as an obvious reference to the last two years he spent behind bars while dealing with the YSL RICO case. He continued with fan favorites like "Slatty," "Surf" and "Ski." Thug shocked fans when he censored lyrics in the latter track that mentioned Gunna. The move fueled more chatter about his rumored issues with his YSL artist.
Later in the show, Young Thug turned things up a notch by bringing out some good friends to perform with him. After delivering "Lifestyle" with special guest London On Da Track, Thugger brought out Travis Scott to perform their collaboration "Hot (Remix)." La Flame stuck around for a bit and belted out his smash hit "FE!N" one time before he left the stage. Thug kept the party going by inviting his longtime homie T.I. on stage to perform their collaboration "About The Money" for the first time in years.
"I want to bring one of my Atlanta legends out with me bro," Thug told the crowd. "One of my old heads. We been turnin' s**t up for sure."
Of course, Thug couldn't leave without giving the fans a preview of his long-awaited album Uy Scuti. Toward the end of his set, the 33-year-old artist brought out Ken Carson to perform their unreleased collaboration "R.I.P. Scuti." It's the second track Thug has shared from the follow-up to his 2023 album Business Is Business. He previously dropped the album's first single, "Money On Money" featuring Future, which he performed during the final moments of his set.
Lyrical Lemonade's Summer Smash festival also featured performances from Future, Don Toliver, Yeat, DDG, Waka Flocka Flame, Sexyy Red and more. Check out more scenes from Young Thug's set and the rest of the weekend-long music festival below.
