Dwight Howard and Ice Cube are opening up about the chaos that unfolded at the BIG3's season opener last week.

On Monday, June 23, the BIG3 founder and the Los Angeles Riot star stopped by The Breakfast Club to talk about BIG3's new season, its legacy in sports history and more topics. Before they could even get into the aforementioned topics, Charlamagne Tha God broke the ice by asking Dwight why he let Lance Stephenson toss him around on the court last week. Dwight laughed it off but Cube shared his thoughts about the situation.

"Diwght gotta protect himself out there," Cube said. "They was trying to put some intimidation down but Dwight wasn't having it."

Howard and Stephenson made headlines last weekend when the two NBA legends got into an intense scuffle on the court during BIG3's opening game at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Ill. The fight was so bad that the two ended up in the crowd. Stephenson, who plays for the Miami 305, and Howard were both ejected from the game and were issued warnings. The season opener was Stephenson and Howard's official debut in the BIG3 league, however, this will also be Howard's last year playing professional basketball.

The BIG3 was established in 2017, but this year marks a major shift for the league. Eight new franchises have been created including the Boston Ball Hogs, Chicago Triplets, Dallas Power, Detroit Amplifiers, DMV Trilogy, Houston Rig Hands, Miami 305, and the Los Angeles Riot. Fans can stream the games live exclusively on iHeartRadio, CBS and VICE TV. The full season schedule is available now, and tickets are on sale at big3.com/tickets.
