A Beaumont man on death row for murdering a woman and her daughter has had his conviction
overturned. Joseph Kenneth Colone was convicted for the 2010 murders of 41-year old Mary
Goodman and 16-year old daughter Briana. Prosecutors says Colone was upset Mary Goodman
was going to testify against him in a robbery. The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals says
evidence was suppressed that could of helped Colone. The Jefferson County District Attorney’s
Office intends to retry the case.
