COVID-19 Update: April 1st 2020

+There have now been 51 people test positive for COVID-19 across the six county Southeast Texas region. 27 inJefferson County, 13 in Hardin County, 7 in Orange County, Two in Tyler County, 1 in Newton County, and 1 in Jasper County

+As of the end of yesterday, 1693 calls had been made to the Southeast Texas Regional calling center and 756 people have been referred to the testing site since March 20th. Remember, call 409-550-2536 to be screened before testing. You will not be tested unless you have called to testing center beforehand. The call center is now in operation 24 hours a day

+A second testing center has opened in Southeast Texas. It is located in Silsbee at the old Kirby Elementary School at FM 92 and FM 418. The hours of this testing site at 9:00-6:00 Monday-Friday.

+All schools will remained closed thru May 1st. That order coming from Governor Greg Abbott yesterday. As of today, the earliest Texas schools will return to class will be Monday May 4th. All districts continue to offer alternative courses.

+Jefferson County has postponed all jury trials thru the end of May.
