Summer Walker Says She's Done Making Music After 2020: Read Her Post

Summer Walker has decided that she is done making new music.

On Monday night (February 10), the budding Atlanta-bred singer, 23, took to Instagram Story to reveal to her 2.3 million followers that she's done with the studio. "lol I'm deadass never making another song after 2020," she wrote without any context or additional references. While artists are quick to announce retirement, Walker's case might be different as she's previously been vocal about her love/hate relationship with fame and the industry. If the R&B siren does indeed decide to leave music behind her, the announcement comes at a peak time in her career. Not only did she recently contribute "I'm Gonna Love You Just a Little More Baby" to the Birds of Prey: The Album soundtrack, but she also lent her voice to a remix of Justin Bieber's "Yummy." In April, she'll join the likes of Big Sean, Charli XCX, Lana Del Rey and more at 2020 Coachella.

Walker has been forward about her struggles with anxiety, particularly after canceling several tour dates in 2019. "I truly appreciate all the support and love. As you know, I have been very open about my struggle with social anxiety. I want to continue to be healthy and to make music for y’all, so I have decided to cut down some of the dates on the tour," she told fans via social media. "I hope you all can understand. I’m grateful for every single one of you, and I hope that you understand that wellness/mental health is important. All cancelled dates will be refunded asap."
