A 31-year old Beaumont man is in custody following a standoff yesterday afternoon.
Deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Division went to a home
in the 1900 block of Edson in Beaumont to serve a mental health warrant. The man inside
the home was armed with a gun and refused to come out. After about three hours of
negotiating, the surrendered to authorities and came out of the house.
